Sakhar Amba

Pieces of mangoes in sugar cardamom saffron syrup. This is a write up of my mom. I love Alphonso mangoes which are hard to get here and so I miss them a lot. With a fresh mexican mango in Prisma my mom thought let’s check how it tastes. Gosh! it was not as heavenly as an alphonso taste. It was also a little sour. Believe me till I finished my school today and was wondering where the mango is I had this delicacy in front of me and I simply loved it.

‘Aam pasand nahin aisa shayad hi iss dharti pe hoga koi’
I am posting what I made today. Sakharamba as called in marathi merely means mango in sugar syrup. A delicacy that can be made and preserved for long and enjoyed daily with Poli(Chapati) or simply with no accompaniment needed. Trust me try it with plain rice and it tastes superb (weird combination me and my bro love).
I am a girl who likes to cook spending ‘not much time’ in the kitchen. I am lazy with taking photos and posting it on FB 😜 but today to keep my word to my dear friend Ketki Kulkarni posting the fresh mango Sakharamba I made today with the Mango I bought from Prisma.
